This paper presents a heritage intervention proposal developed for the Architectural and Urban Design V course at the Federal University of Campina Grande. The study focuses on two eclectic buildings located in the historic center of Campina Grande, Paraíba: the Epitácio Pessoa Pavilion and the Cristiano Lauritzen Mansion. Despite their historical, architectural, and urban significance, both buildings are currently in an advanced state of physical deterioration and loss of original characteristics, requiring actions aimed at their preservation and rehabilitation. The methodological framework adopted was the approach proposed by Afonso (2019), which analyzes heritage assets through seven dimensions: regulatory, historical, spatial, functional, formal, tectonic, and conservation. The research was structured into three main stages. The first consisted of the anamnesis phase, dedicated to surveying and understanding the buildings through their architectural dimensions. Subsequently, a diagnostic phase was carried out, based on the identification of pathological manifestations and damage mapping through Damage Identification Forms (DIFs), enabling the definition of intervention guidelines compatible with the conservation needs of the properties. Finally, the design proposal was developed based on contemporary heritage preservation principles, such as distinguishability, reversibility, material compatibility, and minimum intervention. The proposal includes the introduction of new uses capable of reactivating the buildings, assigning the Epitácio Pessoa Pavilion to a gastrobar and the Cristiano Lauritzen Mansion to a coworking space. Additionally, the project proposes the requalification of the surrounding urban space through the creation of a public square integrated with the architectural ensemble. The results demonstrate the potential of intervention as a strategy for preserving and re-signifying built heritage, reconciling the safeguarding of historical values with the contemporary demands of the city.
