Setting up a tent, recycling trunks, shoe racks, shopping carts, or even a birdcage can help give books a prominent place in school. In the same way that a teacher enthusiastically dresses up as a character and tells a story or distributes dolls and objects to students so that at a certain point in the narrative they can come in and actively participate, it completely changes the formation of readers in the teaching context. From this perspective, the book “Dinamizando a Leitura na Escola: espaços e teatralizações” (FIORINDO; WENDELL, 2023) presents good academic-pedagogical practices on how to approach reading in school, highlighting the spaces in which stories can be dramatized. Initially, the authors present theoretical perspectives on the concept of reading and its implications for teaching and social life. Next, they show the reading spaces that teachers can set up in their schools, as well as the ways in which these stories can be dramatized in the classroom. Therefore, the goal of this review is to systematically and critically outline the main ideas proposed by the authors in the book.
