This study aims to present and share the results of the Architectural Project V course of the Architecture and Urbanism course at the Federal University of Campina Grande. This curricular component addresses the development of an intervention project in the built heritage, which used a methodology applied by Professor Alcília Afonso divided into three stages: 1) the first stage that addresses the anamnesis of the architectural object; 2) the second stage that consisted of developing the diagnosis of the building; 3) and the third stage that encompassed an intervention proposal, with a view to preserving and requalifying the example of modern residential architecture of Campina Grande - PB, the Germiniano Crispim House - adapting it for use as an art gallery and café. The proposal respects the original language of the building, reconciling historical preservation with new cultural uses. The building occupies a plot of 800 m² and is located in the Prata neighborhood, in a strategic point of the city. The project takes advantage of the existing configuration, maintaining the main entrance and reorganizing the internal spaces to accommodate reception, exhibition areas, administrative and support sectors. The external areas were activated as complementary spaces for socializing and exhibition. Its original construction system was preserved, with the addition of contemporary elements such as steel, exposed concrete and polycarbonate, ensuring distinction and reversibility of the interventions. The proposal emphasizes cross ventilation, natural lighting and the use of sustainable materials. The result is a minimal and silent intervention, which respects the identity of the building and expands its urban and cultural function in a sensitive and modern way.
