The project was designed to meet the demand for accommodation for students and professors involved in congresses held at the Federal University of Campina Grande (UFCG). The proposal aims to provide a functional and comfortable space, aligned with the academic and environmental needs of the region.
The chosen location for the implementation of the lodging center is a plot with a considerable slope, measuring one hundred by eighty meters. The predominant climate in the region is hot and dry, with periods of humidity between May and July, when rainfall is more frequent. The prevailing winds blow from the east and southeast, which influenced the placement of openings, prioritizing these sides to enhance natural ventilation.
The floor plan of the building has a rectangular shape, organizing the spaces efficiently. At its center, an open internal space was designed to create a more intimate area within the hotel itself. This central space also allows for greater contact with nature and promotes cross-ventilation between the sides of the building.
The building's placement on the terrain took advantage of the natural slope to arrange the residential floors in a stepped manner. This strategy allowed for better integration with the topography.
The adopted construction system was structured in steel, with a modular floor plan, ensuring greater precision in execution. The walls were designed in drywall, providing flexibility and construction efficiency. The parapet roof features thermoacoustic tiles.
The volumetric result of the project is a direct consequence of the zoning solutions and floor plan organization. The building presents a clean and rational volume, without excessive plasticity, reinforcing the principles of modern architecture.
As a result, the project meets the academic accommodation needs with a rational, modern, and modular approach, offering solutions that consider the climatic aspects of the region.
