THE CONSTRUCTIVE DIMENSION IN THE SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL WORK OF ARMANDO DE HOLANDA IN PERNAMBUCO

The article has as its object of study an architectural analysis of the single-family residential work of Armando de Holanda (1940-1979) in Pernambuco, taking as case studies, two examples produced by the architect in the 70s of the twentieth century, the Fernando Gomes (1975) and Nilo Coelho (1976) Residences. The objective is to analyze the architectural dimensions of the selected works, observing their contributions in contemporaneity, through criteria adopted by Holanda, such as the search for climatic solutions related to the place in which they were inserted, and the adoption of prefabricated elements in the construction system of the works. This article is justified by the novelty of bringing to light two residential projects of the architect, previously never published and analyzed, in addition to the relationship of the authors with the theme, considering that a research proposed by one of the authors was developed, with a project financed by the Cultural Heritage Notice of Funcultura 2024/2025 of the Government of Pernambuco, in which sixteen works were investigated, going through the process of redesigning the design material, editing original images and virtual reconstruction, of which one of the authors coordinated the work, and therefore, we are now presenting part of the results through this article.
