Abstract

The study presents the design of a roof that houses an urban market and an urban terminal located in the southeastern part of the city of Diadema, in São Paulo. This is part of the final delivery of the Final Graduation Project II (TFG II) course at the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas. Formerly a soccer field, the 4,790 m² site has potential for connecting various facilities in the surrounding area. Through a conceptual process of overlapping various layers of flow and history that interrelate a contemporary-historical dialectic, the entire architecture of Alameda Urbana is organized by a large flat roof, supported by square tubular metal pillars above the floor and horizontal brick planes , another overlay of the historical and social heritage of the city of Diadema, delimiting free spaces and organizing the various sensations that the place provides. Its easy-to-assemble structure allows the project idea to be implemented in various locations throughout the city, in addition to a new model for the multidisciplinary use of public terminals.
