This essay derives from the author's contribution to the book "Documents of Modern Architecture in Paraíba." The text presents a biographical overview of 26 professionals, including architects, engineers, and firms, who worked to consolidate modern architecture in the state between the 1940s and 1980s. The survey includes individuals with local backgrounds as well as those from other urban centers, whose works left their mark on cities such as João Pessoa, Campina Grande, Patos, Sousa, and Cajazeiras. The proposal aims to systematize data on these agents, reviving names often absent from hegemonic narratives of Brazilian architecture. In addition to the biographical organization, the essay proposes a critical reading of historiographical gaps and contributes to a decentralized approach to architectural modernity in Brazil.
