This article aims to highlight the plastic and functional potential of the hollow cobogó element in the built heritage of the northeast region, especially during the period of modern architecture. Since the creation of the artifact in Pernambuco in 1929, many modernist architects have prioritized its use, adapting their projects to the conditions of the tropical climate and landscape. The criteria for choosing the case studies presented here were defined by the protagonism of the cobogó in the composition of the works, the exclusivity of the visual pattern of the pieces, as well as access to documentation or the buildings themselves. The analysis methodology includes a historical contextualization of the building, an approach to the functional and aesthetic aspect of the cobogó and the redesign of the module, concluding with a systematization of technical data. The work aims to highlight the design of cobogós in the architecture of the northeast region, highlighting the potential of its regional identity.
