Abstract

Over the years, the richness and diversity of Brazilian architecture have been represented through the eyes and hands of its architects. This visual encounter offers a journey that covers the different architectural styles that have shaped Brazil, revealing how the mix of cultures, influences and traditions have shaped a unique architectural identity deeply rooted in the country's history.
Brazilian architecture is a reflection of its society, made up of a plurality of voices, cultures and histories. From colonial constructions, with their European lines adapted to the tropical climate, to the daring modernists that have become global icons, through African, indigenous and contemporary influences, each design exhibited here carries with it a narrative that contributes to the construction of a national identity .
In this exhibition, each drawing is a fragment of this rich and diverse history, a testimony to the miscegenation that defines Brazilian architectural identity. As you walk through these works, we invite you to reflect on how architecture goes beyond forms and structures, acting as a visual narrative of who we are, where we came from and where we want to go.
The curatorship of this exhibition was guided by the desire to present to the public the multiplicity of architectural expressions that make up Brazil. The works on display here are a celebration of the architects who, over the centuries, have contributed to building a unique, vibrant and constantly transforming architectural identity.
