The study investigates pronominalization in Portuguese, focusing on the difference between traditional grammatical norms and real usage in Brazilian Portuguese, particularly in song lyrics. The objective is to compare how pronominalization rules described by Bechara (2019) are applied in practice, observing the prevalence of proclitic versus enclitic forms. The methodology includes analyzing grammatical norms related to pronominalization according to Bechara and observing examples from Brazilian music. The results show that while Bechara’s traditional grammar favors enclitics, actual usage in Brazilian music tends to prefer proclitics. This finding suggests an adaptation of grammatical norms to everyday language use. The conclusion highlights the importance of integrating real practice into the teaching of pronominalization to better reflect contemporary Brazilian Portuguese.
