The aim of this essay is to explore a segment of the institutional architectural production developed by the Pernambuco-born architect Tertuliano Dionísio in the city of João Pessoa, Paraíba, during the 1970s. This is done through the collection of three case studies he developed that contributed to the diffusion of a modern language in the city. The objective is to disseminate and encourage further studies on his work in the capital of Paraíba, complementing the research being conducted by Afonso and Pereira (2018, 2020, 2022) on his contributions to the city of Campina Grande. This approach is justified by the lack of research that examines the architectural heritage of this figure in the city of João Pessoa, as well as the need to continue the work that elucidated this production, such as Pereira's master's dissertation (2008). To this end, the adopted methodology is based on two lines of investigation: 1) one that follows the historical line of research, recovering primary and secondary sources that enrich the understanding of the architect's body of work; 2) the other, focused on photographic records, on-site visits, and architectural research, analyzing them through guidelines proposed by Afonso (2019). It is also expected that the results will go beyond the necessary documentary and descriptive verification of the architect's body of work, considering that this period was quite fruitful for the consolidation and dissemination of the architect's visual and formal vocabulary in the city.
