This article addresses the Cine Capitólio, built in Campina Grande/PB in the 1930s, encouraged by the arrival of the modern ideal in the city and the attempt to beautify the urban landscape of Campina Grande. Its aim is to understand the trajectory of Cine Capitólio within the city's timeline, through the investigation of its origin, rise, and decline. The study involves an analysis and diagnosis of the building, which is part of a group of street cinemas that contributed to the history of the city. It examines the attributes of the structure during its period of conception and the current state of preservation based on on-site visits and archival research. The article justifies itself through the need for a discussion on the erasure of buildings that once formed the collection of street cinemas in Campina Grande/PB and their contribution to the city's legacy, as well as raising discussions on the conservation and maintenance of buildings preserved as the city’s architectural heritage, yet neglected and in a state of abandonment.
