This article aims to propose reflections and analyze two different centuries according to the same theme: the social relations produced in urban space and their reflections on the inequalities of the big city. Regarding the period, the work is based on the 19th century, marked by technological advances, and the 21st century, seeking to compare how mutual interactions between people are capable of uniting or separating groups and how the urban influences these interactions. As a methodology, the article is based on bibliographic and phenomenological research in search of understanding the theory of its authors based on an observation of reality. The justification for this analysis lies in the understanding that, even in centuries and authors from different periods, it is possible to perceive similar social behaviors in the big city. From this, it is concluded that social relations are capable of generating inequalities, both visible and invisible, in the urban.
