REFLEXIONES SURGIDAS A PARTIR DEL PROYECTO COST.
“midle class mass housing”
Abstract
The project, "middle class mass housing", carried out under a COST grant from the European Union - in which the Polytechnic Universities of Madrid and Barcelona participate in Spain, together with about 30 universities, most of them European - aims to analyze the proposals for major construction projects, built between 1945 and 1970. In this article, we will comment on some reflections resulting from the study of six Spanish ensembles. Being groups whose inhabitants, in general, obeyed a migratory phenomenon, villages and rural areas, and accused a great uprooting when they were located in large depersonalized nuclei. The main objective has been to analyze these positive aspects of their former habitats, thus trying, with these reflections, to propose conditions that will allow humanizing and improving the development of massive housing in the future.
