ETHNOGRAPHIC DRAWING TO RECORD DAILY LIFE IN A HOSPITAL ENVIRONMENT
Abstract
This study aims to apprehend and represent the daily reality of the João de Barros Barreto University Hospital, a historical example of care architecture in the Amazon, as part of the research project "Tectonic indicators in modern hospitals: humanization and architectural preservation". From this perspective, using ethnography as a theoretical and methodological aid, the dynamics between the HUJBB's environments and its users will be identified, seeking to understand the uses and perceptions attributed to the hospital. During the field research in the hospital complex, drawings of the relationships observed were produced using the ethnographic drawing technique, which integrates the recording tools used, such as photography and diary entries. By carrying out these activities, it was possible to recognize the contributions made by the use of ethnographic drawing in architectural research and, as a result, to identify factors and means capable of promoting the well-being of HUJBB users.
