This article addresses the initial documentation of modern architecture in the city of Patos, focusing on six outstanding works from the 1950s to the 1970s. The main objective is to address the modern collection of Patos, which is still little studied and recognized, using it as a tool to disseminate the regional modern movement in the context of Paraíba to the social and academic environment. The relevance of the study lies in the need to attribute recognition to the historical landmarks that shaped the city urbanistically and economically, as well as to the great names that inserted modern architecture into the Patos scenario. The research is based on Melo's studies and is organized into five stages: 1) Introduction to the development of modernity in Brazil and its relationship with Patos; 2) Theoretical foundation; 3) Methodology; 4) Analysis of the selected works; and 5) Discussion of the results obtained. This study seeks to highlight the importance of the city's modern legacy and its transformations over time.
