This study investigated the representation of gender-based violence in the novel The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson (2015), focusing on the analysis of the narrator's voice and the patriarchal dynamics present in the work, published in 2005, as the first book in the Millennium trilogy. The aim of this research is to observe how the narrator of the novel represents the various forms of patriarchal violence and the socio-historical-cultural practices that sustain these oppressions. The research critically explores the relationship between discourse and the different forms of oppression faced by women, from physical and sexual violence to symbolic violence, in addition to highlighting the gender tensions presented in the narrative. The methodology adopted is bibliographic research, of a qualitative nature and based on feminist literary criticism. The theoretical references used were as follow: Ligia Chiappini Moraes Leite (2007), for the analysis of the narrative focus; Michel Foucault (2009) with respect to power relations; and Heleieth Saffioti (1987; 1995; 2004), on gender violence and patriarchy. As results, the critical analysis of this work demonstrated how Larsson's work (2015) reflects patriarchal structures, using multiple narrative voices to sometimes validate and sometimes subvert the system
