POSTGRADUATE IN EDUCATION AT UFT

Abstract

The article describes the construction of the Postgraduate Program in Education (PPGE) at the Federal University of Tocantins (UFT) and its impact since its creation in 2012. To this end, it provides a historical context of the Federal University of Tocantins and its insertion in the postgraduate policies for the northern region and Brazil. It then specifies the Program's vocation, the lines of research and how some projects helped to consolidate the Program. Since October 2022, the Master's degree has sought to expand internationally with the Assimetrias and Abdias Nascimento program and international events. The strengthening becomes significant from 2020 onwards when it becomes the center for doctoral studies in Education in Amazonia. In 2024 we have 64 students. Graduates work in higher education and basic education. The PPGE has increased the educational potential of the region, affirming the strategic nature of Education for the Amazon. Therefore, there is a positive development and impact of the UFT academic Master's degree in training qualified professionals and improving education in the region.
