ICONOGRAPHY OF BEIRA VALÃO
FACADES OF THE CAMPOS-MACAÉ CANAL - CAMPOS DOS GOYTACAZES/RJ
Abstract
This paper is inserted in the dynamics of the urban landscape, in the constructive culture and in the means of production of urban space in the reading of signs and patterns inserted in their context so that their interpretation allows the identification of social representations acting in the place, their traces and indicatives. With the aim of making an iconographic reading of the signs and patterns inserted in the visual elements on the facades of buildings and the visual communication of commercial establishments on the road that borders the stretch of Canal Campos-Macaé, better known as Beira Valão, in Campos dos Goytacazes/ RJ, points out in illustrations the urban stereotypes that indicate, qualitatively and quantitatively, the presence of social representations and identities. This reading can contribute to understanding the identity of the place, the means and subsidies for how social representations are attracted to the place, and who is most targeted by establishments and activities.
