INCLUSÃO PERVERSA E A VIOLÊNCIA DE GÊNERO EM A HORA DA ESTRELA

Abstract

This study analyzes the dialectic of exclusion/perverse inclusion presented by Bader Sawaia, in articulation with the story of the character Macabéa in Clarice Lispector’s novel “A Hora Da Estrela”. The research is grounded in a set of materials that values not only scientific production, but also literature as a legitimate source of knowledge. Using a qualitative approach and bibliographic review, the study discusses how social exclusion goes beyond the notion of absence of participation and manifests as a form of subordinate inclusion that produces ethical-political suffering. Macabéa’s trajectory reveals multiple dimensions of social inequality—crossed by gender, class, territory, and labor relations—showing that her alienation is not a personal trait, but the result of social and historical determinations shaping her subjectivity. The results indicate how the dialectic of exclusion/perverse inclusion is embedded in the narrative, while also demonstrating how literature reflects Brazilian social reality. Lispector’s work functions as a critical instrument, exposing the normalization of symbolic and material violence directed at women in situations of vulnerability. This analysis also highlights the role of violence exerted by the narrator Rodrigo S.M., by Olímpico, and by the social interactions surrounding the protagonist. The articulation between literature and Critical Social Psychology contributes to understanding contemporary processes of inequality and reinforces the relevance of the novel in debates on gender violence and social exclusion.
