THE IMPORTANCE OF HIPERDIA IN FRONT OF CHRONIC NON-COMMUNICABLE DISEASES: EXPERIENCE REPORT

Abstract

The Family Health Strategy (Estratégia de Saúde da Família - ESF) is one of the lines of care present in Primary Health Care (Atenção Primária à Saúde - APS), implemented in Basic Health Units (Unidades Básicas de Saúde - UBS) and is characterized as the priority “gateway” to the Unified Health System (Sistema Único de Saúde - SUS). In the face of chronic non-communicable diseases, the ESF has several actions that include monitoring blood pressure (BP) and blood glucose levels (HGT), a hyperdiagnosis program, as well as developing educational actions with the population, preventing the onset of the possible complications that are most commonly observed. The aim of this study is to describe the experience of the 9th year nursing students during their Supervised Internship I (ESI) in dealing with hypertension and DM. This is an observational, descriptive and qualitative study, with an experience report on the activities carried out during the ESI, at the Mutirão II Basic Health Unit, in the city of Cajazeiras - PB, from February to April 2024. Based on the report, active search stood out as the main strategy for searching for and monitoring the population registered in the Hiperdia program, showing positive effects. This was evidenced by the significant increase in demand for consultations at the unit, as well as brilliantly achieving the targets set by E-SUS feedback.
