Abstract

Abstract

Forensic radiology is a subspecialty of radiology and forensic medicine that uses imaging techniques to investigate crimes and identify victims. With the advancement of technologies such as radiography, computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), it has become essential in trauma analysis, body identification, and determining the cause of death. Radiography detects fractures and foreign bodies, while CT and MRI offer detailed images, useful in complex cases and advanced decomposition. Crucial in identifying disaster victims and analyzing traumas, forensic radiology faces challenges such as the need for high specialization and resource limitations. However, the future is promising with new technologies, maintaining its vitais role in crime resolution and the administration of justice.
