Keywords:
Primary Health Care, Primary Nursing, Experience-Based LearningAbstract
Primary health care is the gateway to the Health Care Network, being responsible for longitudinal, humanized, and comprehensive care, with a focus on health promotion, disease prevention, and patient recovery. In this sense, the nursing internship can be a path to develop knowledge and skills of interns in Primary Care. This study aims to report the experience of nursing students from a Federal Higher Education Institution during the course of Supervised Internship I in a Primary Health Care Unit in the Alto Sertão Paraibano. This is a descriptive study, of the type "experience report," with a qualitative character. The study population consists of all individuals involved in the internship development process. The Primary Health Care Unit serves approximately 4,000 users, with high demand, which led to successful experiences that contributed to strengthening learning in the fields of wound care, women's health, immunization, health education, and Integrative and Complementary Practices. Therefore, Supervised Internship I was crucial in the development of knowledge, providing independence, the assimilation of theoretical and practical content, and the enhancement of health skills.
